Kayden's surgery was a success!!!

Kayden surgery was a success today and everything went according to planned.  He was in surgery for a little over 4 hours and then we got to see him briefly as they wheeled him to the PICU.  It was so hard to see our baby all full of wires and tubes but so wonderful to see that he was o.k!  After they got him all settled, which was about 40 minutes, we were finally able to go into the PICU.  Surgery went great and they were able to put in an almost adult size conduit, which should last him a long time!  The conduit that was in his heart was 12mm and was replaced with one that was 20mm!!!!  Kayden is doing good and was even opening his eyes off and on and nodding a little tonight.  They are going to be keeping his breathing tube in overnight and hopefully take it out tomorrow morning.  They will be keeping him very sedated to hopefully help him have a great night sleep.

We are so proud of our little man!  He was such a trooper today!  We know that he has a hard recovery ahead but are so relieved that surgery is over!

Brave Kayden on his way to surgery!
Shortly after his arrival to the PICU
