Another tough day!

Kayden had another really tough day today!  Kayden was in a lot of pain through out the night and needed morphine again.  He never wants to tell us that he is in pain, and we think it is because he is scared to get poked or have anything done to him.  By the time he usually says anything, his pain is usually to far along and seems harder to control.  Our poor little guy is also constipated which is causing a lot of abdominal discomfort for him.  The morphine and other medication that he was on and the fact that he really has not eaten anything are only making things worse.  Kayden is usually very prone to headaches and the not eating, all the pain, and all the medication have been giving him really horrible headaches, and all the headaches and medication are making him nauseous!  Kayden threw up a couple of times and that means he then threw up his meds.  It seems like Kayden needs to get over this hump and will start to feel a little better, but it's a viscous circle.  They say that their main concern is Kayden's pain and the rest will come, it just takes time.  Things were a lot easier when he was heavily medicated but I know that he needs to get over this part, it is just hard to watch him go through so much pain.  Kayden's headache and pain was so bad this afternoon and after they gave him morphine again, it finally subsided!!!  He then was able to eat a little and was feeling a little better this evening.  They have decided to give him morphine overnight because the pain was beginning to come back and they want to control it before it gets to bad this time.  This is a plan that I was happy to hear!  They are hoping to get Kayden up and walking some more tomorrow and hopefully his pain will be controlled enough to do this.  He is so cute and so tough when he walks to and from the bathroom and wants very little help.  Everyone is so amazed at how determined, independent he is and how he never complains!  He is truly amazing and we are so proud of him.  God has blessed him with such a wonderful strength and a postive attitude to get through this!
